Dr Meridee Flower MBBS (Hons), BMedSci (Hons), MRCGP (Hons) DipRACOG graduated from Monash University in 1985 and completed her Vocational Registration training as a general practitioner and Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Melbourne before moving to UK in 1992. In the UK Meridee worked as the Resident Medical Officer at Esperance Private Hospital Eastbourne (1992-1993) and the Bon Secours Hospital Beaconsfield (1993-1994) and then worked in General Practice at Claremont Surgery Maidenhead (1995-1996) and the University of Reading Medical Centre (1997-2000). Whilst in the UK she completed her Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners and Diploma of Dermatology and Diploma of Family Planning.
On returning to Australia in 2000 Meridee worked in General Practice at the Wakefield Street Family Practice (Adelaide) and then the University of Melbourne Health Service. In 2012 she established the Carlton Family Medical Centre with fellow doctors and in 2020 Meridee began practice at the William Street Clinic which in 2022 moved to Hardware Lane in the Melbourne central business district; the Clinic is now renamed as Atticus Health Hardware Lane (entrance from 393 Little Bourke Street, Melbourne).
In the past Meridee enjoyed providing the full diversity of general practice, babies to elderly, both men and women and enjoyed helping people develop and maintain mental and physical health, skin conditions, women’s health (including insertion and removal of Implanon) and shared care obstetrics, chronic disease management including GP Management Plans and GP Mental Health care plans and travel medicine.
In 2023 and 2024 Meridee stepped down from General Practice but continued to work solely as a Mental Health General Practitioner otherwise known as a GP counsellor. Meridee was interested in the full range of mental health problems, for example:
Meridee referred to psychiatrists as required and prescribed medications for mental health conditions. She also has qualifications in counselling CBT, focussed psychological strategies, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS Level 1 certification awarded 20th September 2024) and offered counselling utilising these modalities.

- adjustment disorders (may be related to chronic pain, chronic disease, grief, terminal illness, death and dying etc),

- trauma-related disorders (such as post-traumatic stress disorder),
- substance abuse disorders.
